Krenkerup Bryggeri

Just outside Sakskøbing, in the historic buildings of Krenkerup Gods, lies one of the country's most beautifully situated breweries. Krenkerup Gods is first mentioned in 1367 and has passed from generation to generation for more than 650 years — and in 2007, estate owner Patrick Reventlow-Grinling decided to add a brewery to the estate's activities. The first brew, a harvest ale, was set on 12 August 2008, and since then the range has grown to include a wide selection of pilsners, wheat beers, bocks and seasonal beers. The brewery is housed in the estate's old grain store, where state-of-the-art steel tanks share space with the building's 300-year-old oak beams. The beer is brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot — using only water, malt, hops and yeast, without additives, preservatives, colouring or added sugar — and some of the barley is grown on the estate's own fields. The quality has earned international recognition: Krenkerup was the first privately owned Danish brewery to win six gold medals at the European Beer Star competition. Visitors can join a guided tour and beer tasting and round off the visit at the traktørsted (inn) housed in the adjoining grain warehouse, where the brewery's own beers are served alongside a meal in authentic, scenic surroundings.

Lilleø Vin is one of Denmark's most distinguished wine projects, rooted on the small island of Lilleø in the Smålandshav north of Lolland. Today, 2.5 hectares of vineyards are operated by Claus Meyer and the Saunte family, who also manage the island's fruit cultivation. Since 2015 the wine has been pressed and vinified in Denmark, in close collaboration since 2021 with trained oenologist Nathalia Edwards. Lilleø's unique microclimate — with intense heat on south-facing slopes and the sea's protective effect against spring night frost — yields grapes of exceptional quality.
