Villa Gallina

Villa Gallina is a restaurant located in the middle of Hesede Skov in South Zealand, in the scenic manor landscape surrounding Gisselfeld Kloster, to which the property belongs. The restaurant is counted among Denmark's most beautifully situated, idyllically placed by a small forest lake with views of both woodland and water. The building is a two-storey half-timbered house, built in 1852 as a refreshment stop and inn that at the time served the area's residents and travellers on the old country road between Næstved and Copenhagen. The building displays the distinctive architecture and woodwork characteristic of the houses on Gisselfeld's lands. Today Villa Gallina operates as an à la carte and private dining restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the lake and is a popular destination for day trips.
