Vålse Vesterskov lies in the northwestern-most corner of Falster facing the Småland Sea and belongs to Orenæs Estate. The mixed deciduous forest with adjoining coastal meadows offers rich birdlife, spring-flowering anemones and violets, and a tranquil natural area where you mostly hear nature's own sounds. In the forest lie the two megalithic graves Store and Lille Bondekirke from the Stone Age, and the site is associated with the legend of Horsjageren ("the Horse Hunter") — an eerie figure said by tradition to haunt precisely these dolmens. The forest is privately owned, but access is possible via paths and roads, and a roughly 5.5 km hiking route leads through the forest and along the beach.
