Stars (Vordingborg)
📍 Algade 84, 4760 Vordingborg, Danmark
In a converted cinema on Algade in Vordingborg, the music venue STARS has since 1998 been one of South Zealand's most important cultural meeting points. Over the years it has hosted more than 1,500 concerts and events for a combined audience of over 150,000 guests, and today it presents over 100 concerts a year with a clear focus on live rhythmic music. STARS has been designated a regional music venue by the Danish Arts Foundation — most recently re-designated for the period 2025-2028 — a status that comes with an obligation to bring high-quality live music across many genres close to its audience and to give talent, emerging artists and niche genres good conditions. There are no genre restrictions; alongside concerts, the programme also includes blues jam sessions, comedy, music quizzes, open mic nights and family concerts, while the intimate stage Smallstars provides space for smaller, close-up experiences. The venue is run by a small permanent staff supported by around 120 volunteers and is known for its good sound, close audience contact and relaxed atmosphere in its historic setting.
