Hesede Skov is a large, privately owned forest of around 424 hectares, located between Haslev and Næstved in southern Zealand. The forest belongs to the Gisselfeld estate and consists mainly of deciduous woodland with oak and beech, along with scattered conifer plantations. The terrain is markedly hilly, with sandy moraine hills from the Ice Age, and in the south the landscape reaches around 100 metres in height. Many of the forest's dead-ice depressions have over time been turned into carp ponds, and the forest holds both geological and cultural-historical traces.
